Frequently Asked Questions

Natural Delights® Medjool Dates originated in Bard Valley in southeastern California. Today, it’s where most of our groves still reside. In recent years, our growth has allowed us to plant additional groves in northern Mexico where the same beneficial climate exists.  Natural Delights does not source or pack Medjool dates from any country besides The United States and Mexico.  Each Natural Delights® Medjool date grove undergoes the same stringent certification process. Our industry-leading farm and harvest practices are followed by every member of our grower cooperative, and are implemented regardless of where the trees reside, ensuring that every Natural Delights Medjool Date is grown to the same exacting standards.

Full of natural sugars and dietary fiber, this healthy snack delivers a sweet caramel flavor while providing the sustained energy you need to power through the day.

Natural Delights preserve the best if kept in their tub or another airtight container or resealable bag in your refrigerator.

Every package of Natural Delights has a "Best Before" date indicated on the side of each tub. Please use this date as your guide.

While Medjool dates are high in natural sugars, they are low on the glycemic index thanks to a balanced amount of soluble fiber.

Processed sugars are immediately absorbed into your bloodstream, causing unpleasant sugar spikes and energy crashes. This is why you may feel tired or irritable after eating something like a candy bar or drinking a soda. Whereas, the complex carbohydrates found in Medjool dates are digested at a slower rate, making them a source of dietary fiber and releasing energy to the body over a longer period of time. Our body needs natural sugars like the ones found in Medjool dates to help create sustained energy throughout the day!

All Natural Delights® Medjool dates are sustainably grown using state-of-the-art agricultural practices and are pesticide free, additive free, and Non-GMO Project Verified.  USDA-certified Organic whole and pitted dates are available at retailers nationwide.

The wrinkles in the outer skin of Medjool dates are their naturally occurring texture right off the tree.

A white, sugary film may appear on the Medjool date during storage due to the natural curing process of the date. This condition in no way affects the quality and may be removed with a damp cloth or eaten as is. A similar condition may occur under the skin or where skin is broken in the form of small grey spots. These are merely crystallized natural sugars and indicate the richness of this variety of date.

Just like any fruit, Medjool dates very rarely have internal mold. While it’s not harmful, it’s not desirable, so please let us know at: info@naturaldelights.com and we will cheerfully replace!

Our fresh Medjool dates are first pitted, then pressed and extruded into long rolls. They are then rolled in their complementary ingredient and sliced into individual pieces.

Medjool dates are plumper and chewier with a rich, caramel-like flavor - perfect for snacking! Deglets are generally smaller in size, more firm in texture and have a milder flavor.

Natural Delights Medjool dates are sulphur-free.

Fully submerge your dates in a bowl of boiling water for about 10 minutes. Drain, pat dry, and enjoy!

Place the dates you wish to chop into the freezer for 15 minutes. This will add some firmness and allow you to easily slice with minimal stickiness.
