Ingredients

  • 1, 5oz bag Mini Pepperonis, crisped
  • 1, 8oz Block Cream Cheese
  • 2, 4oz logs Herb Goat Cheese
  • 1, 8oz can Tomato Sauce
  • 6oz Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 6 Natural Delights Medjool dates, pitted & diced
  • 1/4 cup Pine Nuts, toasted
  • 1 tablespoon fresh Basil, sliced
  • Italian Bread, sliced & toasted for serving

Preparation

  1. Place the pepperonis in a small skillet over medium heat and cook until they have curled up and become crispy.
  2. In the bowl of your slow cooker, combine the cream cheese and goat cheese logs with about a tablespoon of the pepperoni oil, then drain the pepperonis on a paper towel lined plate.
  3. Stir the cheese and oil together until well combined, then spread it into an even layer in the bottom of the bowl.
  4. Top with an even layer of the tomato sauce and the cheese, place it under the broiler, set to high, in the oven until the cheese has browned on top. Keep a watchful eye so it doesn’t burn, all broilers are different!
  5. After the cheese has browned, place the bowl back in the slow cooker and set to keep warm. Top with chopped dates, pine nuts, and the crispy pepperonis. Finish with the basil and serve with toasted bread or crackers and enjoy!
