Iced Date Espresso Shaken Latte  

An easy, coffee shop–worthy iced latte that's perfect for summer!

Ingredients

  • 1 Natural Delights Medjool Date
  • 1 shot of espresso
  • Dash of cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Ice
  • Milk of choice (reduced-fat milk or oat milk work especially well)

Preparation

Add 1 Medjool date to the bottom of a 12 oz jar with a lid.

Brew 1 shot of espresso directly over the date. Let it sit for at least 10 minutes to soften the date.

Using a spoon, gently mash the date into the espresso until fully combined.

Add the cinnamon and salt, then fill the jar about halfway with ice. Secure the lid and shake about 10 times, or until slightly frothy.

Top with your milk of choice and enjoy!

*While Medjool dates are high in natural sugars, they are low on the glycemic index thanks to a balanced amount of soluble fiber. The complex carbohydrates found in Medjool dates are digested at a slower rate, making them a source of dietary fiber and releasing energy to the body over a longer period of time.
